According to ANI, “Actor Akshat Utkarsh dies allegedly by suicide at his residence in Mumbai’s Andheri area. Case lodged, matter being probed. Body handed over to the family after postmortem: Mumbai Police.”
Talking to a news portal, Someshwar Kanthe, senior police inspector at Amboli police station said that they have registered an Accidental Death Record (ADR) and are enquiring about the matter. Preliminary enquiry and autopsy reports do not indicate any foul play. He also added that the incident took place on Sunday night somewhere between 10 pm and 11:30 PM.
According to Amboli police officials, Akshat died by suicide and was depressed due to lack of work. However, his family has reportedly dismissed the depression narrative, claiming that the aspiring actor was murdered. His body was taken to his native Muzaffarpur by his family on Tuesday. They have alleged police negligence.
The late actor, who hailed from Muzaffarpur, was in Mumbai to pursue a career in acting.
